Hoogendijk’s roots date back to 1745, when the Hoogendijk family started their business in Vlaardingen, then the Dutch capital of herring fishing. What began as a local fishing business grew into a respected family business known for its quality, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship.

Today, Hoogendijk Import Export B.V. is an international supplier of premium frozen seafood and also supplies African meat and vegetables. With almost 300 years of heritage, the company continues to build on its legacy of quality, reliability and innovation.

Family Leadership

Hoogendijk was led by Jaap Hoogendijk, the 10th generation of the Hoogendijk family in the company, and by Leo Hattenbach, who also had many years of experience in the field.

2017

Acquisition by Fa. Tel

Fa. Tel acquired Jaap Hoogendijk's shares.

2025

Full Ownership

In 2025, Fa. Tel became the sole owner of the company after acquiring the remaining shares from Leo Hattenbach, who continues to work within the company.
